Turkey Recovery after the Shot


Most people do not know that game recovery is one of the most important parts of the hunting trip. It is the crucial in first seconds after the shot. The hunter will have to find the turkey and it is a very serious part of the whole hunting experience.

It is very important that right after the shot of a gun, or the release of an arrow, the hunter looks exactly at what happens. It is important to see if the turkey is down or if it is running. Should the turkey be running, it is important to see in which direction the turkey ran and what the bird looked like. Even better is if the hunter was able to see where he hit the turkey. Then he is more likely to know what is going to happen next. If a perfect shot into the head or the neck of a turkey was achieved with the gun, then the hunter knows that the bird will most likely die instantly. On the other hand, if the turkey was hit somewhere in the rest of the body, it is most likely only wounded and will be on a wild run after the shot. Depending on where the hunter shot the animal, he might also have a small blood trail that he can follow.

After seeing where the turkey was hit, or even if the hunter did not exactly see where the turkey was hit, it is important to follow the bird’s direction of run with the eyes. It is of utmost importance to follow the bird with the eyes until it is completely out of sight, to be able to determine where to find the bird. Should the hunter carry binoculars, this is the time to use them to see exactly where the gobbler is headed.

Additionally, as just mentioned above, it is important to remember what the bird looked like, since the hunter wants to make sure that the gobbler he is about to tag is his and not anybody else’s.

There are actually two general theories in turkey hunting about the recovery process. The one is as mentioned above, wait and see, but the other is actually the opposite. Some hunters think that it is best to get going on recovery procedures immediately. It means that as soon as the hunter gave off his shot, he needs to get out there and grab the bird. Some of the birds are in shock and are much easier to recover this way than when running after the bird. Even when hit in the body, turkeys can run long after they were shot very similar to their domestic counterparts.

Some of the turkeys get away only after they were shot because sometimes it is difficult for even an experienced hunter to recover game that is on the run.

One thing the hunter might want to keep in mind is to check for other hunters that might be after the turkey the same turkey. Stepping out into the open while somebody else is aiming at the turkey might be a great danger for the hunter.

Whichever is the chosen method, hopefully the hunter will be able to retrieve his bird. After all, it is very sad if the hunter gave of a shot knowing that he actually hit the bird and then he is not able to have anything to show to friends and family. Hopefully, these tips will help any hunter on his way to a successful recovery and a bird for the dinner table. After all, turkey is one of the favorite dinner foods at Thanksgiving ever since the first turkeys were served for dinner in the early years. Do You Need a Degree to Become a Graphic Designer?


One question commonly asked is whether or not you need a degree to become a fashion designer. It depends upon your field and your level of experience.

In some cases, if you have been self-disciplined and you have a strong support group of people around you it is possible to make it without a degree. This is true especially if you are a freelance designer.

However, you stand a better chance of earning a more comfortable living if you increase the amount of formal education you have. Now, you may think as a working adult this is hard to do (assuming you are an adult out of high school already). You may be married and have children already and you wonder when you would have time to study.

The other scenario is that you could be fresh out of high school and are not sure you want to go back to school. If you are unsure it is better that you do wait (contrary to popular option). The reason why is because school requires quite a bit of time and money, much like getting married.

You stand a better chance of succeeding in school if you are motivated to better your self. Therefore, if you are not motivated to learn you are better off finding a different way to learn.

If you are not able to attend classes at a university or technical school at this time plenty of other educational options available to you. You can receive a certificate in specific areas of design to prove to future customers that you are proficient in what you do.

The other option would be to that or you can attend an online school. This will allow you to complete your courses at home on your time frame. Either option will be much faster than would be attending a two or four year college program.

It is recommended that you receive a degree from an accredited school if you are going to be a graphics designer. This is true if you are going to become a professional publisher as well. However, that is not the only way you can learn.

In fact, it is better to work in the field while you are attending school. That will help you find a job faster when you graduate. Sometimes you may be required to accept an unpaid internship to prove yourself while you are in school. However, paid or unpaid it is all valuable experience.

In fact, if a future employer sees that you are determined enough to complete volunteer projects how much more determined you would be if you were getting paid. That is assuming you are able to get your foot in the door of the right company.

The field of graphics design is much more than just being creative, however. It is even more than being disciplined. You need to be able to stay ahead of the competition and you need to be able to come up with graphics solutions that work.

The amount of money that you can make as a graphic designer varies. Many different factors will determine your paycheck.

Another factor that will determine how much money you make as a graphic designer is your experience. If you have been at this for several years by now chances are you have perfected your craft far more than someone who has only been in it for a few years.

That experience that you have is very valuable. On the other hand, make sure you do not take your experience for granted, because you always need to be willing to learn and willing to try new projects.

Otherwise, those who come after you could very easily pass you up in experience level and ability. That leads to another point and that is if you don’t use the talent you have for awhile you could lose it.

Therefore, even during slow economic times or even if you need to take a temporary job right out of college do not forget about your craft. Remember to take the time to keep learning every during that period in your life when you think it may be impossible to find a job.

Some of them have even volunteered to work on advertising campaigns for non-profit groups free of charge. This experience, even if it is just temporary will help add items to your portfolio.

They can be perfectly fulfilling for individuals who want to be able to take care of themselves, save some money by not purchasing pre-packaged foods and allowing themselves the freedom to choose what they eat for their meals.

With do it yourself plans, the individual is in charge of making sure that every day, they make the correct and proper choices for their diet. They need to be more restrained, but they can also enjoy the financial freedom of do it yourself plans. The drawback, however, is that some people are not sure what to do in order to make sure that they ingest the vitamins and minerals that they need to, without packing on more weight.
